José Mourinho has reached an agreement for a two-year contract with Real Madrid.
The contract is expected to last two years. Mourinho will travel to Madrid immediately after the match between Real Madrid and Bilbao to finalize the details.
The return of “The Special One” is seen as a symbolic move by Real Madrid in their plan to usher in a new era after a turbulent season.
This will be Mourinho’s second spell in charge of Real Madrid. In his first spell, from 2010 to 2013, the Portuguese strategist helped Real Madrid win the Spanish Championship with a record 100 points, under the dominance of Pep Guardiola and Barcelona.
He was also known for fostering a strong fighting spirit and a distinct personality in the dressing room, laying the groundwork for four Champions League titles in the following five years.
Sources in Spain indicate that Mourinho wants to quickly restructure the squad, particularly in midfield. Several important targets have been mentioned, including Rodri from Manchester City.
Mourinho’s return promises to make Real Madrid the focal point of European football next season.
After 13 years away from the Bernabéu, Mourinho is preparing for a new chapter in his coaching career, marked by a lot of pressure, but also by great expectations.
