The Mambas players participating in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) will receive land in the Moamba district, Maputo province, for reaching the unprecedented Round of 16 of the tournament.
According to the weekly newspaper “Desafio” in its Monday edition, the information was confirmed last Saturday by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Caifadine Manasse, during his visit to that district.
In addition to the players, Manasse guaranteed that all members of the national team’s technical staff will also be entitled to land, while also assuring that the process of occupying the land could begin by June.
The announcement comes weeks after the Mambas legends of 1996 were granted land in the Matutuíne district, Maputo province, in an initiative led by the President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo. The promise was fulfilled 30 years later.
