Lens traveled to the French capital and thrashed Paris FC 5-0. Taking advantage of PSG’s defeat, the team from Northern France, which has been a surprise, regained sole leadership of the French League.

The rout began with Wesley Saïd. The French forward scored twice in the first half, opening the scoring in the 24th minute and extending the lead in the 38th minute.

In the second half, Florian Thauvin, a French international, scored Lens’ third goal from a penalty, conceded by former FC Porto player Otávio (58th minute). The remaining goals came from the bench.

Rayan Fofana, a 20-year-old forward, entered the game in the 69th minute and also scored twice (90th and 90+5th minutes) to make it 5-0.

With this resounding victory (5-0), Lens returns to the top of the French League with 52 points – one point ahead of second-placed PSG. Paris FC is 15th with 22 points.
